  “ People will forget what you said; people will forget what you did; but people will never forget how you made them feel” – Maya Angelou We are now at the final part of our module, and another chapter comes to a close. Allow me to take you back to our first meeting, where I remember the words of our teacher- words I have never forgotten.  She said, "It is not an accident that you are here and enrolled in my class." At the time, her words were so comforting and reassuring that I felt I was on the right path. Indeed, the words of a good teacher echo throughout a student's life, and that's how my teachers' words continue to echo in mine. Encouraged by this example, I want my life to do the same. I want my words and actions to resonate throughout my future students' lives. I hope to be remembered as a teacher who made a difference and  left a lasting impact.   The transition from face-to-face to online learning has changed the educational landscape. Yet, I believe that the Code of Ethics in teaching must remain unwavering and will continue to serve as a guide to effective teaching regardless of the delivery mode. The spirit of professionalism, integrity, respect, and dedication to student learning must continue in the physical and virtual classroom. As a future educator, my fundamental position is to observe and practice this set of ethical and moral principles, standards, and values with the same conscientiousness and honesty whether I stand in front of my students or connect with them through a screen. Reflecting on the Need to Uphold Legal Mandates

          During my elementary years, spanking, scolding, paddling, slapping, striking with belts or sticks, and kneeling on “monggo” seeds or salts for extended periods, or squatting, were just normal and not a big deal. We accepted and embraced them as part of the discipline we were used to, because our parents and grandparents imposed the same discipline at home as our teachers did at school. But today, the things to which we are accustomed, and the ways in which we grew up, are different and have significantly changed. The discipline we once perceived as good, and were trained with, such as strict corporal punishment, is no longer applicable today. Teachers would be in conflict with the law if they applied the same disciplinary methods as in the past. In our generation today, we heard about numerous issues regarding teacher conflicts with students, violating students rights, teachers physical abuse, and teachers shaming.   My teaching philosophy is grounded on the belief that every child is special, possessing unique individualities, diverse learning styles, and untapped potential.                As a teacher, I believe my role is to serve as a facilitator, mentor, guide, nurturing a love for lifelong learning, and fostering critical thinking skills. I am driven by the belief that every child is a unique learner with diverse learning needs and styles, with untapped potential waiting to be unleashed. I will ensure to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, cared for, and empowered to explore their capabilities. I want to create a classroom that feels like a “home”, a welcoming and safe space for every learner. A home where making mistakes is not a failure but an opportunity to learn and grow. The Teaching Profession

“Why am I here? What is the purpose of God for me?” These are my questions for the past few days after enrolling in the CIT program. Though I am grateful for the opportunity, deep within me, I am seeking deeper meaning and purpose in pursuing this path.   I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration majoring in marketing. I don’t have any teaching experiences outside except the experiences I had inside the church. I was assigned to be a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader, a dance teacher, and a bible study sharer. I am not skilled in teaching, but I enjoy preparing lessons, teaching, and sharing what I learned and my skills. I remember, watching youth and elders who are not skilled in dancing, but I was able to let them dance- that is rewarding for me. Witnessing young people’s lives changed and transformed by the Word of God because I allowed myself to be an instrument of God to guide, teach, and nurture them- is a fulfillment.
